COBOL programs
While my job education as 'Datenverarbeitungskaufmann', I learned programming in the language COBOL. This language isn't object oriented and you can only write programs for DOS and OS/2 (as far as I know). And at this time both systems weren't very important anymore.
It was short before the year 2000 and many financial instituts were use COBOL based software, which wasn't ready for the year 2000. So COBOL became important in the IT world again and programmers, which know this language were searched all over the place.
However, the two programs I wrote during my education. One of them, the address programm you can download here as sourcecode.
- simple Address-Database with field for the FIDO-Net-Address (!), also known as Point.
- ASCII-Table, a program for DOS, which shows the ASCII table, including some special chars and its numbers. (hex or dec, switchable)
Oh yes, ASCII means: American Standard Code for Information Interchange. :-) To run the programs, you need to compile it yourself.
