My Homeland - Introduction
I lived the first 21th years of my life in Küstrin-Kietz and moved in 1998 to Frankfurt (Oder). I think both places are my homeland, more exactly the whole Oderbruch and Frankfurt.
The topic on the following pages is the history of these places. But also the present has it's place there. Additionally I collected some interesting links and books.
My homeland ist located 80 to 100 kilometers in the east of Berlin. Some people were ask, "Isn't this poland already ?" Well, nearly. :-) The Oderbruch and also Frankfurt (Oder) are located, like the name suggests, at the river "Oder" - and this river is (together with the river Neiße) the border between Germany and Poland.
